START YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKING WEEK WITH A MIX OF EVERYTHING!
A MTB tour directly from the coast to high up into the mountains, passing up through green farmed valleys to the double reservoirs and village of Ayagaures. You’ll ride steadily on loose surfaces to reach Eagle Pass to relax and enjoy the vista of sun, sea and mountains spread out below you. Then an exciting descent down the Barranco of Fataga and home through the “Grand Canyon” of Gran Canaria! Enjoy this unique environment!
Wednesday: La Fortaleza – Level 2 - 44 km 440Hm 1350Hm
A GENUINE FAST PACED ROUTE, LOTS HAPPENING AND LOTS TO PAY ATTENTION TO!
We start with a short shuttle with the bikes up to 900m. The first sections are a descent on narrow tracks, enough to get your pulse racing. Steady into San Bartolomé and continue on tracks and descents to the edge of the Caldera de Tirajanas, then a series of moderate climbs and fast descents to rest at a palm oasis. Then you can expect an epic long descent to the coast. But be careful, the track needs attention at all times. Finish the day with a few unexpected climbs to remind you to conserve your energy.
Friday: Pico – Level 2.5 - 60 km 650Hm 2600Hm
A DEMANDING TOUR FROM THE HIGHEST POINT OF THE ISLAND!
From our start at 1770 m, a short distance to the top of the island, at “Pico de las Nieves”. We fill our lungs with the scent of pine forests, as we plunge down the many fast tracks to the forbidding “Roque Nublo”. From here it gets better, as we ride a mile long track on the most barren but scenic slopes of this side of the island. This rugged volcanic landscape is large enough to get lost in, so keep your point man in sight. This tour is perfect for well trained cyclists who want distance and endurance over technicality.
